This style of engraving uses the actual tip of a diamond to scratch a message into the metal. Since diamonds are the hardest substance, Diamond Drag is one of the most common engraving methods used by many award manufacturers. Engravers program the job in accordance to the specifications; i.e. - size, style and text. The machine then follows the programmed template in a robot-like fashion, using the diamond tip to inscribe the metal. If text is required, there may be multiple passes to each letter. The end result is a classic engraved look and vibrant marking to the metal.
